Oso seems determined to find out why the band is called Via Violenta (Violent Way). He has already left two comments on the blog, five voice mails, a disembowled cat, and three emails, all inquiring “why why why why etc.” So here you go.

dirty pretentious reason: “well you see, Oso, its the violent way all around us, everywhere you look you see buildings dropping and heads falling off, envy and decay, and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it. You are responsible for the death and subjugation of millions. You’re not the kick, but you are the boot. You’re mere existence causes pain to others; harsh, unbearable pain you will probably never know. You grow fat off their bones. Yet, you know no other way. The violent way, my dear Oso, is the American way.”

actual reason: we were gonna call the band “Vita Violenta” from the Blonde Redhead song/album, but someone messed up and said “Via” instead of “Vita.” It’s never a dull moment with this bunch.
