From 2005 to 2007 I was Global Voices’ editor for Latin America. I recruited, trained, and edited a team of fifteen contributing authors who curate the most interesting online conversations from blogging communities throughout Latin America. I also oversaw the launch of the Spanish-language version of Global Voices. Today Silvia Viñas is the Latin America editor and Juan Arellano manages the Spanish-language site.
From 2004 until 2006 I was among a small group of contributors to San Diego Blog, the first community blog dedicated to news and events in the San Diego area. Founded by Joe Crawford in 2003, the blog brought together a community of the city’s earliest bloggers and covered issues that were left out of the mainstream media. In 2006 it was sold to Matrix Media Technologies. An archive of my posts is still available.
